Retro Afghan
I've finally finished this afghan. I started out making retro granny square vests for the girls and ended up making this. I am giving it to the women's shelter. I am glad it's done, my hands were getting tired from the crocheting. I ran out of one of the colors and could not find it anywhere so I had to make it similar to a patch work. I am happy with the way it turned out.

Vintage Friday (a day late)
This towel is not really a vintage piece but the design is very old fashion. I have a few more I'd like to embroider and use in my kitchen.

Vintage Friday
These pot holders were in a bag of treasures from my friend Jen. I love things like this. I found a few patterns to make these and I hope to make some this fall. I don't have any from my grandma, she preferred to crochet tablecloths and bedspreads.

Bindings
I put four bindings on quilts this weekend. I did two for my new bedroom (I'll post pictures of these quilts at another time) and two for Dominican Republic. My fingers are sore at the tips from all the hand sewing, I like to sew my bindings by hand and I don't use a thimble or finger guard. I want to feel the needle and thread. I have several quilts left to bind but I don't mind. I enjoy this part of quilting.

Vintage Friday
This towel is one of two I bought in a bag of vintage embroidery a few months ago. I had no idea what colors to use so I did it in black. I didn't think to make the bow red until I was almost finished. I have the Wednesday towel that is part of the same set. I'd like to make towels for each day of the week, but they'll be from different sets because I don't have complete pattern packs. That's okay with me because I like so many different patterns and this way I can have a little of each.

Sailor transfers
I went to a thrift store today and found these transfers. They are USN motifs. There are six different images.I have not seen these before. The directions say to stamp them on a towel as a "gift for the girl who has a best beau in the navy". I think they are so cute. I don't know how I am going to use them yet.
